Picture it, San Antonio, July 3rd, 2016...Here I am clueless as can be thinking I'm getting ready for a pre-4th of July BBQ.  We had invited all of our Village and my sisters to Rudy's parent's house for a get together and I receive a text from his mom asking us to wear our favorite colors because we were going to take family pictures.  As I'm getting ready Rudy is all of a sudden very interested in my attire...I thought weirdo, but whatever I carried on.  We get to his house and I notice that his sister is wearing shorts, after she told me she'd be wearing a dress like me...I called her out and she said she didn't feel comfortable in the dress so I let it slide.  At exactly 7:00 pm everyone shows up...this is a miracle.  I assume everyone is just hangry and wants to eat, so there I am being a good hostess heating up tortillas in a jam packed house and I'm getting kinda mad that not one single person is helping me.  I shrug it off and continue with my mad tortilla heating skills.  As the night goes on I realize that everyone is kind of avoiding me including Rudy and I'm getting a little sad.  Just then my sis Del pulls me aside and she looks MAD!  I'm scared!  She asked if I would go to the store with her because her hubby had forgotten to pack diapers for dem babies.  She is furios and I'm scared and Tony (her hubby) won't even look her in the eye and I'm thinking YIKES!  He's in big trouble and I feel sorry for him.  Off we go to wally world.  When we get back Del has me go thru the side gate for whatever reason and since I'm still scared of her I do as I'm told.  I open the door and ALL of our village and family were lined up holding photos of us and roses!!  I'm thinking what the heck is going on??  I look at Del and she gently pushes me in and says go on this is all for you.  As I'm walking thru it hits me...OMG!  This is happening!  I'm trying so hard not to do the ugly cry but I can't help it.  It was so beautiful and having everyone there made it even more magical!  As I walk down the walkway that's lit up with lights Rudy is waiting for me and leads me away to dance to our favorite song.  He had a table to the side with a picture of my daddy (RIP) and had my mom and the rest of my sisters on FaceTime.  As soon as our song was about to end he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!  After I said SI the fireworks show started.  He put so much thought and love in to the proposal and I love that he included some of the most important people in our lives.  We will forever remember this night and be thankful to everyone involved especially because they were able to keep a secret for so long. lol.

I can't wait to become Mrs. Aguilar and he can't wait to become Mr. Chavez ;)
